In March we were delighted to welcome Mike Foster, Business Mentor and Business Growth Adviser to the team.
Mike's role in the Total team is to work closely with Ann to deliver our business advisory support.
As a mentor, Mike supports clients to make change and develop their business. He helps them to visualise what they want, plan how to best achieve that and execute the plan with motivation. He keeps clients accountable to the priority actions, that they have agreed, to actually make the desired difference.
We have first hand experience of just how effective this support can be, having worked closely with Mike for the last few years.
Mike has started, developed, franchised and sold his own businesses including a marketing company, a bookkeeping company, a training business, a membership organisation, a Health & Safety consultancy and an indoor soft play centre.
He has worked in the start-up and scale up market for over 25 years. His speciality is the ability to see a strategy and model for success. Additionally, he has an eye for the detailed steps actually needed to make the improvements planned.
Mike was trained at the Warwick University school of business, whilst holding an area managers role for Barclays. He has been a mentor for nearly a decade, working with entrepreneurs to help them start, develop and grow. He has worked with many businesses, having also held senior advisory roles in accountancy firms, where he was responsible for delivering the advisory support to their clients.
His practical approach, sharing his experience, skills and knowledge ensure that the clients time and energy is best utilised.
Mike is married with two children. His other interests are his voluntary work and running a number of networking groups to support other business owners. Mike enjoys football and rugby, although now no longer play, but is a coach for a boys football team.
